In fact Owen and Mike are ex members of the internationally acclaimed Bogus Brothers renound as being the biggest party band in the world. They would have regularly played to audiences in excess of 70,000 and constantly toured in over fifteen different countries. Their celebrity client list includes the wedding of pop star Caroline Corr, the wedding of Irelands rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll, Ronan Keating, Eddie Jordan, Garry Lineker, Sir Alex Fergusson, to name but a few. When I got a call from Mick Maher of Arkadia to film their new promo, I had no idea what fun was in store. Apart from being a great group of fun loving people they are also highly talented and work extremely hard. Professionalism at its best. But dont be fooled these people are insane!!! I ended up filming the band at 4 different gigs, at recording studio Claycastle Recording Studio, Youghal, Co. Cork, Ireland www.claycastlerecording.ie , as well as Dolans warehouse in limerick.
My first time filming the band was the last night at an outdoor festival, It was a Sunday night after a heavy weekend. A small but determined crowd showed up and within 15 minutes of the set the audience were dragged (literally) into enjoying the best night of the festival, prompting the festival organisers to book Arkadia on the spot, as the Mainline act for the Festival in 2013.
When I got home I had some great footage but knowing we were going to be filming a lot more for the promo I decided to put some footage together to show the band what we were capable of. I had used this music for a promo for the Cork Opera House and knew that it had the right energy for the quick edits. This video is not viewable anywhere else as it was only a taster for the band to see what the finished promo would look like stylistically. This is what we came up with…
