Hello, My name is Maurice Supple, I am a freelance video producer and camera pointer based in Cork, Ireland, “Blue Shed Productions” is the name of the company that I started up about 6 years ago with my brother Shane. The name of the company came from the fact that when I moved to Cork I was staying with Shane and his family, we were working on a lot of local events and filming and editing for the local website youghalonline. So when ever we wanted to do some editing we did it in a large blue steel container adjacent to Shanes house where he ran his website company. So often we would refer to any filming or editing as Blue Shed stuff & the name just stuck. I specialise in web-video and documentary production. When I tell people that I am a video producer, I always get the same response – What does that mean exactly?
Well in a general sense, it means that I oversee all aspects of a production from pre through post-production, it means I do pretty much everything else too -
I usually serve as director, shooter & editor on my projects as well. Basically a one-man video production company.
I do sometimes partner with other freelancers or bring in a crew to assist me with larger projects, but I have found that staying small, I am able to be more nimble and flexible in working with clients and also then I dont have to charge extra for other peoples wages.
